TRURO-BIBLE HILL-MILLBROOK-SALMON RIVER, NS - Dave Ritcey is the nominated Progressive Conservative candidate for Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River in the next provincial election.
First elected in 2020 through a convincing by-election victory, Ritcey has been a vocal advocate for the people of Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River, helping fix what was broken by the Liberals, including:
- Providing nearly $2.7 million to help revitalize the Truro Amateur Athletic Club (TAAC Grounds) and $1 million invested in upgrades to the Colchester Legion Stadium.
- $1.5 million towards the Native Women's Resilience Centre in Millbrook First Nation.
- $3.5 million invested for road improvements in the Village of Bible Hill, Salmon River, and Willow Street/McLures Mills Roundabout.
- Investments in healthcare services including improved access to primary care clinics and $1.6 million for CCA-Practical Nursing Bridging Program to support a cohort of over 25 CCAs at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) in Truro.
- Over $2 million invested in new public housing for the Municipality of Colchester in Bible Hill, providing up to 20 people a place to call home by 2026.
- $16.1 million invested in the Provincial Exhibition Grounds and Dick Huggard Grandstand at the Truro Raceway.
- Over $1 million for seniors in Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River through Senior Grants and Senior Property Tax rebates.
- Investments in emergency housing and food sustainability projects through the Colchester Food Bank and Haven House in the Town of Truro.
“It has been an honour to work alongside Premier Tim Houston as our PC team builds up Nova Scotia,” Ritcey said. “We have moved quickly and decisively to bring real change for Nova Scotians.”
Ritcey won elections in 2020 and 2021. He is the chair of the Progressive Conservative Caucus and a member of the Treasury and Policy Board. Additionally, he serves on several standing committees of the Legislature, including Human Resources, Law Amendments, Natural Resources and Economic Development, and Private and Local Bills. Before becoming an MLA, Ritcey was the Director of Community and Business Development for the Community Credit Union for Cumberland–Colchester.
